FAQ

Q: If I hire CERCL, am I hiring the University of Toronto?

A: No. CERCL is a private consulting firm, whose members all work in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the University of Toronto. If a consulting job requires equipment owned by the University, members of CERCL can use the equipment at the standard external billing rate, and that fee will normally be passed on to the client.

Q: What is the cost for CERCL services?

A: Each member of CERCL determines his or her own billing rate.

Q: What type of services does CERCL provide?

A: Each consultant has their own range of consulting activities. Typically, we provide general technical expertise on a variety of industrial problems, expert opinions in legal cases, including both civil suits and patent litigation, and, in Canada, advice on SR&ED tax filing.
